WHAT ARE ANTI - WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
Anti-wrinkle injections (non-surgical aesthetics treatment) to reduce muscle contractions which help smooth lines and wrinkles on the surface of the skin.
'Botox' is a commonly used term and is a brand name for botulinum toxin - a product used for preventative anti-ageing. When injected into certain muscles it will stop the repeated muscle contractions which are leading to lines and wrinkles.
The most commonly treated areas are the crows feet (around the eyes), the frown lines between the eyebrows and the forehead.
ABOUT THE PROCEDURE
The procedure is completed by our highly experienced aesthetic practitioner. The appointment usually takes around 20 minutes. During the appointment you will feel a sharp scratch as the needle is inserted, numbing cream can be applied previous to the appointment if you so wish. The area will be cleaned with sterile solution prior to injecting.
Once you begin to see the results of the anti - wrinkle injections, the treated area will look softer and smoother. A review session is carried out at around 2 weeks after the initial appointment, free of charge, where if required, any adjustment injections to optimise the results will be administered.
The results of the anti - wrinkle injections are not permanent. Usually, the procedure is repeated every 3 – 6 months to maintain the desired results, which depend on individual factors such as lifestyle and compliance with aftercare advice.
Botulinum toxin injections are available to treat :- crows feet, forehead lines, elevens lines, jaw definition, neck bands known as platymal bands, nose tip lift, under eye area, downturned smile area or under arm sweating.
